Instead, I will simply receive a message saying "XX is not available for Face Time." This also happens when someone initiates the FaceTime to me and I attempt to connect. On my end, I will never receive notice that the other party attempted to connect. Specifically, when I initiate a call via Face Time, many times the receiving party with attempt to connect and then after 30 seconds, will receive a Call Failed message.
These issues originally surfaced with the demise of the old iChat as Apple transitioned everyone to FaceTime but have gotten worse with High Sierra and iOS 11.
I've been having issues with FaceTime since both High Sierra and iOS 11 launched.
